On 8 March 2022 FSC International announced that because of the association of the forest sector in Russia and Belarus with armed invasion, no FSC-certified material or controlled wood from these countries will be permitted to be traded.
To ensure there is no disruption to our customers and to continue our commitment to providing an ethical solution which adheres to FSC certification standards, On The Level will be switching from using Birch plywood (which is predominately sourced from Russia) to Indonesian plywood in the manufacturing of our wet room formers.
Indonesian Ply is a high-quality hardwood, well known for its excellent strength making it suitable for heavy duty floors. It has a high density, strength and biological durability over other species. We want to reassure our customers that we have rigorously tested this material, and it has been chosen for its ability to retain all the benefits associated with ordering formers from On The Level.
